RAVP
has been in business since 1976, I started purchasing equipment with
paychecks as an electrician (15 years). I video taped Pageants, Festivals,
Theater, Weddings, Fashion shows, Radio Promos, and Television promotions.
I soon found I needed an outlet to show
all the videos so I contacted TV stations without any luck. But
I didn't give up. Soon, Cable came to Phoenix and I started negotiations
with Store Cable/Camelback Cable, and leased channel 150 in Glendale,
and 32 in Phoenix for 4 Years. With that I Contracted Black Entertainment
Television for 4 hours of Programming an I Produce 4 hours to start. When
B.E.T. went to 8 hours and RAVP went to 6 hours.
RAVP
expanded into Cable Television, broadcasting local produce community
programming
along with national Black Entertainment Television (BET). It
began June 1, 1981 with programming 24 hrs. 7 days a week.
Our programming consisted of: Community
Calendars, News, Sports, Movies, Cartoons, Music Videos, Gospel programs,
Soap Operas, Family hours, Cook & Exercise shows, Beauty & Health
tips, and Music Specials.
At the present, RAVP has branched
into Studio space for Corporate videos, TV shows, and Live uplinks. Our goal is build a TV
/ RADIO / THEATER under one roof, and connect with other Broadcast Company's to form a
programming network in the southwest.
